Her world is our world.

In the original drawings I portrayed Gaia in neutral colours, so that she could better represent everyone. Although I initially conceived this collection for a feminine audience, I realised almost immediately that certain difficulties, certain emotions, are common to all human beings. At the same time, the more I thought about the scenes, the more I realised I was missing colours. So I decided to turn the collection into something digital. The initial neutral colours were a great help for the subsequent processing, which I did in Gimp by randomly applying dozens of parameters from those available in the 'Colour' tab. The same image underwent so many variations while I kept changing the parameters until something interesting emerged. For each scene I selected only five variations and it was not easy to discard the other versions.

The World of Gaia is a 60 piece collection originating from the digital elaboration on 12 sketches of different situation.

Unbalance - Sometimes, some events completely unbalance our lives but, after some time, we realise that those events were able to free us from constraints we were not aware of.

Silence, please - Do this. Do not do that. Wear that. Do not wear this. Do not say this. Say that. Think this. Do not think that... Silence, please!

Partecipate - Partecipate: to take part, to take action, not remaining on the sidelines... Things are not going to change by themselves, are they?

Relax - The mind free to wander, to stop, to enjoy the moment, imagining everything and nothing at the same time.

No, thanks - Gaia faces many things every day that are not right, that are not good, for herself or for the world she lives in. Gaia has learnt over time to say No. No, thanks.

Glass case - Social conventions can be like a glass case and Gaia feels the time has come to expand the space and push the ceiling further up.

For your skin - Excessive exposure, whether to the sun or to social media, can be harmful.

Expression - Communicating thoughts, moods, feelings, perspectives. Expressing oneself. Relating to the world.

Balance - Every day, searching for the right equilibrium, balancing on the rope of life.
